Great Sushi, Plain Atmosphere When you walk into this location, the decor is very plain--just white walls with not much effort to make it feel inviting. But don't let that fool you--the food is top-notch! The sushi is high quality, and the pieces are cut huge. There's something for everyone, with both raw and cooked selections. If you're here for great sushi, you won't be disappointed!

Kakuna Sushi is legit! It's tucked next to a gas station, but the line's crazy, and the prices are solid--everything under $20, you'll leave stuffed. Must Try: Omakase Box ($48.99) - 12 thick slices of sushi, with tuna, salmon, uni--total steal! Nigiri Moriawase ($23.99) - 9 pieces of sushi, one of each--so good you'll want more! Grilled Salmon Collar - Crispy on the outside, juicy on the inside, packed with meat--eat it hot! Mango Crunchy - Mango + salmon--unexpected but totally balances the flavors! Lobster Roll - Tempura lobster inside, torched salmon on top--luxurious and filling! Skip the fried or grilled sushi, and definitely pass on the tempura! Plenty of parking, solid service, and they do takeout. 75 S Abbott Ave, Milpitas, CA 95035

The rolls are HUGE. The server was super sweet and nice. The service was quick too! The restaurant is pretty big and spacious. We ordered around 5 rolls and the Crunchy Mango and Cherry Blossom were my favorites. The fish was fresh and delicious. I recommend coming here and trying their rolls!

The sushi is very good. The menu look inviting and based on the past Yelp reviews, I ordered a couple of rolls that I probably would not have. Both were delicious. I wish this location had their liquor license so I could wash down my sushi with a Sapporo or a tall hot sake. The interior decoration is non-existent. It's like they just moved in yesterday or don't care at all about theme or ambiance. It gave my dining experience a weird vibe eating there. I wanted to hurry up and leave just in case they had to immediately close up shop which is strangely what the interior felt like. The customer service was just okay. They refilled my water once but didn't ask if I'd like anything else to eat before paying at the counter and leaving. I guess you can't have it all under one roof. Great food, minus a few key details.

3.8 Can be hit or miss, but good price. I also like the variety as they offer a lot of interesting combinations / rolls that you do not usually see. Items: - Boujee : This one is one of my favorites of the night! The lobster tail was fried and flavored to perfection! - Cheesus : I honestly did not expect much from this because of the hot cheetos and cheese. It was surprisingly good and my second favorite! - Fish and chips : Never had tempura white fish in sushi before. It was good, but would've liked more sauce. - Hokkaido: I thought I would like this one more because it has all the things I would usually like in sushi, but it ended up being last for the quality/taste. Service was good. Plenty of seating. Parking is not an issue as there is a parking lot.

yummy sushi that doesn't break the bank?! Kakuna Sushi understood the assignment!! I first came here because I've been seeing this place all over Instagram and thought I should give it a try. The fish here is pretty fresh and I loved how thick the sashimi slices were. The rolls were fairly priced which I was pretty surprised about because I feel like it's impossible to find rolls for $15 nowadays. I feel like I really got my money's worth. They also have some more creative rolls that have lobster in it which I'll need to try next time. They have an extensive menu with lots of options so there's something for everybody. The workers were all really nice, attentive, and fast! Our bento box came out significantly late and we had to remind them about it, so they gave us a discount on the item to make up for it. How nice! We came on a Friday night and had joined the Yelp waitlist but we probably didn't need to because they weren't very busy. The dining room is not huge but can accommodate big groups. I think this place would benefit to make their interior a little nicer. Have some decorations or color to help make the restaurant more inviting to customers. Also, they've got multiple locations in the Bay Area like in San Jose, Milpitas, Fremont, and San Leandro!

Kakuna sushi is my fav spot in Milpitas. The sushi quality is top tier. We ordered the Kanuna roll, the sushi roll is so tasty and loaded, I recommend getting this if you like raw sushi. Also had 2 baked rolls, The Lion king roll has a sweet taste, it was well cooked. Also had The Volcano roll, love how that roll has good quality ingredients and the toppings really compliments the baked roll. It's a big portion, but pretty satisfying ^^ if you aren't a big fan of raw fish, you guys should order those baked rolls, they have a huge selection of it too. I was pretty excited to try the Nigiri Moriawase, it comes with 9 nigiri's (Chef's Choice) The cuts were thick and perfect. Everything was really soo fresh and yummy, It really stand out to me c: I would recommend getting the Chef's choice Nigiri's if you haven't tried it yet. For appetizers, we had Takoyaki. It was pretty bomb, it's cooked to perfection the staff was so nice and have an amazing service. This spot has a lovely setting :) I definitely would want to come back again to try their ramen and other sushi's

If you're in the mood for quality sushi without the frills, Kakuna Sushi in Milpitas is a gem worth visiting. This no-nonsense spot offers a simple yet welcoming ambiance with its gray walls and ample seating, giving off an authentic "hole in the wall" vibe. Service: here is top-notch -- friendly smiles greet you, and the efficiency is remarkable. We received our dishes in less than 10 minutes! Whoever is running the kitchen clearly has the process down to an art. The menu focuses on Japanese sushi and sashimi, and everything we tried hit the mark: Sashimi Salad: A delicate, refreshing salad topped with fresh sashimi, paired with a light miso sauce that adds just the right amount of flavor. Simple yet satisfying. Poke Salad: A generous bowl featuring fresh salmon and tuna, with a spicy kick that's punchy but not overpowering. -Deluxe Chirashi: If you're looking for value and variety, this is the dish for you. The portion is *huge*, loaded with an assortment of different, fresh fish -- a definite highlight. Overall: 5/5. Kakuna Sushi delivers delicious food, fast service, and a laid-back atmosphere. It's a fantastic spot for anyone looking to satisfy their sushi cravings without breaking the bank.

Price to quality ratio is definitely there. The service fast and pleasant and the floor can use some decoration, music, or accent lighting to help elevate the feel. Saying this so they succeed even more and not to criticize. Will come back again. Highly recommend the special rolls, which might be a little too spicy and saucy for some, but every good rendition of sushi deserves a spot in the rotation of to-go places.
